Is the LumiMax safe? 

It is completely safe for any skin type and color, even the darkest ones, because it stimulates the tissue to repair itself in a natural and non-invasive manner. The LumiMax works deep in the skin and rejuvenates from within without causing damage or side effects and without the need for recovery time. 

What treatments does the LumiMax offer? 

LumiMax uses light at seven different wavelengths to offer a wide range of non-invasive treatments: skin tightening, reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, redness reduction, hair restoration, muscle and joint pain relief, and muscle tension reduction.

What areas of the body can be treated? 

The LumiMax articulated light panel allows to perform highly effective facial and body treatments. The panel offers complete coverage of the face, neck, and décolleté area, and accommodates easily to flat and curved positions for specific treatment needs. 

What does the LumiMax rejuvenation treatment consist of?

This advanced technology uses a modern articulated light panel that delivers energy to the different skin layers, the light penetrates the tissues and generates focalized heating to create an incredible repairing effect and induce healing without damaging the epidermis, creating healthier, tighter, more radiant looking skin from the very first session. The light delivered into the skin is absorbed by a specific chromophore to generate the desired therapeutic response depending on the condition being addressed. The controlled heating produced by the light energy provides cells with new energy and activates the tissue’s repair and regeneration mechanisms to reduce the signs of aging and treat hyperpigmentation and redness, among others. 

What does the treatment consist of? 

The specialist will first meet with you to perform a skin assessment and establish a treatment plan. Then they will take pictures. This will also be done after the treatment series to prove it’s efficacy. Once the skin has been cleansed and dried, you will lay down on the treatment bed. The specialist will use an ergonomic LED light panel which will deliver light energy at the appropriate wavelength to effectively treat the specific condition: photoaging, acne, scars, dark spots, etc. Once the procedure is completed, the specialist will apply moisturizing lotion to the treated area as well as sunscreen lotion. You will be able to return to your regular activities right after the treatment session has ended.

How often are treatments performed? 

Usually the treatment series consists of one session, twice a week, for a total of 8-16 sessions depending on the skin condition. One maintenance treatment a month after that will help achieve long-lasting results. 

What does the aftercare consist of? 

Aftercare is minimal.  It is important to avoid sun exposure on the treated area and apply sunscreen lotion of at least 30 SPF to maintain treatment results and prevent premature aging. For acne treatments, we recommend a thorough cleansing routine and using non comedogenic and hypoallergenic products of at least 30 SPF. 

How does LumiMax treat acne?

To treat acne and reduce residual scars, LumiMax uses the purifying, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties of blue light at 462 nm and cyan light at 490 nm. The light energy destroys the bacteria that causes acne without damaging the surrounding tissues, eliminating the infection, and activating tissue repair for softer, healthier looking skin in just a few sessions. 

How does the LumiMax stimulate hair growth? 

The LumiMax is ideal for alopecia and post-transplant treatments as it uses red light to strengthen fragile, weakened hair. The energy stimulates blood flow on the scalp area and increases follicle metabolism to effectively stimulate hair growth. Maintenance session with the LumiMax will help prevent further hair loss. 

Are there any contraindications? 

LumiMax LED treatments should not be performed on pregnant women or persons suffering any of the following conditions: epilepsy; cancer; undergoing chemotherapy radiation or injections of gold salts (anti-rheumatoid); hypertension (uncontrolled); auto-immune diseases (AIDS, lupus erythematosus), light induced-rashes or metabolic disorders such as porphyria; or sensitivity to light. Patients taking Accutane must interrupt its use for 6 months before starting the LED treatment. Photosensitive medications, substances or perfumes are also contraindicated; therefore, a two week wait period after the medicine has been discontinued is required before starting the LumiMax treatment.
